Crutchlow: Lorenzo will get good results at Repsol Honda if he continues to race

Cal Crutchlow believes Jorge Lorenzo will get good results at Repsol Honda if he continues to race. But he still respects Lorenzo’s decision to retire.

Lorenzo announced his retirement as a racer on November 14, just before the final 2019 MotoGP series at Valencia. It also ended his 18-year journey as a Grand Prix driver.

Injuries are the main reason Lorenzo stopped. Always plagued by injuries since the 2018 season, he had difficulty adjusting to the Repsol Honda which he strengthened this year.

Then the results are disappointing. He never finished in the top 10 with 11th position so his best achievement.

But Cal Crutchlow still believes that Lorenzo will eventually get good results if he decides to continue racing. But he also did not want to be impressed regretting the decision of the 32-year racer.

“I still believe what I said, which is that if Jorge survives I think it will finally end well. Say you are three seconds behind, you are still going fast, still at risk of falling,” Crutchlow was quoted as saying by Crash.

“I know three seconds in our world is a massive difference, 0.3 seconds is a big difference. What I want to say is, I think if he continues, he will be even faster.”

“But I fully understand his decision, maybe even more than anyone in the paddock. It’s not easy to get up and do what he has done in his career, he fulfills everything you can hope for, really. He must be happy, I’m sure he is,” he added.
