Yamaha’s Monster Energy Team will undergo 18 MotoGP series races at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, this weekend. This is a challenge for Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales given the iron horse racing track is known to be hot and humid.
Ahead of the race, Rossi claimed he could not wait to meet his fans at the Malaysian track, a circuit where he had shone many times before. He looked strong in the fight to win last year when an accident cut his challenge.
Despite the 2018 accident, the list of successes of The Doctors’ first-class in Sepang was impressive. He delighted fans by winning Sepang six times (2001, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010), second place (2002, 2005, 2014 and 2016), and third place in 2009 and 2015.
This weekend Rossi hopes to add another record of success to the list to move up from the seventh place in the championship standings. “Now we are going to Sepang, where we also test during pre-season, but it is always difficult to understand where we stand before the weekend race runs,” Rossi was quoted as saying on Yamaha’s official website on Thursday (10/30/2019).
“I was very strong in Malaysia last year. The last race at the Phillip Island Circuit is not fantastic, but it’s also not too bad, there are some positive points. The Sepang track is of course very different and has very different conditions from what we experienced in the last round. GP “This will be far more physically demanding for everyone, but we will see. Surely we will do our best again,” Rossi added.
