Quoted Crash.net, Friday (11/10/2019) Dorna as a MotoGP operator agreed on a five-year contract with Brazil. However, the circuit that will be used is still under construction.
Local company, Rio Motorsport, is building a 4.5-kilometer circuit with a unique layout. The circuit has six angles to the left and seven angles to the right.
“I am very proud to announce that MotoGP will be racing again in Rio de Janeiro, one of the truly iconic cities in the world and in an extraordinary country,” said Dorna Sports CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta.
Before this Brazil also held a grand prix. Jacarepagua hosted the Rio de Janeiro Grand Prix between 1995 and 2004, while the Brazilian Grand Prix took place in Goiania between 1987 and 1989 and Interlagos in 1992.
