Eight titles at the age of 26, should Marc Marquez be called the best racer? Alberto Puig rated it as a phenomenon.
Marquez has just locked his sixth world title in MotoGP. He achieved that success after winning the Thai MotoGP race at the Chang International Circuit, Sunday (6/10/2019).
In total, Marquez has collected 8 world titles. Two of them were won in the 125cc and Moto2 classes, then 6 in the MotoGP class in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

For Marquez, he is now ranked sixth in the list of most world title winners. The Spaniard is still under Giacomo Agostini (15), Angel Nieto (13), Valentino Rossi, Mike Hailwood, and Carlo Ubbiali (9).
Interestingly, Marquez is still quite young. Puig, a former Honda rider in the 1993-1997 season, called Marquez a phenomenon.
“It’s hard to say [whether it’s the best rider], but this is a phenomenon,” Puig said.
“There is a very great rider in the history of motor racing, a fire I can say, today, Marquez is above all,” explained Puig, who is now the manager of the Repsol Honda team.
