Draft evaluators focusing on Mac Jones!

Mac Jones

257 interesting young prospects from colleges will be picked during the seven-round NFL draft procedure soon.

Starting on 29th April and lasting for three days, Jacksonville Jaguars will pick the first draft in this year’s event.

Be it former Patriot’s coach Charlie Weis or former QB turned analyst Chris Simms, everybody is keeping an eye on Mac Jones

Under the reign of head coach Nick Saban, Alabama Crimson Tide was able to capture their ninth SEC championship title last year.

Mac’s play throughout the season was quite impressive, according to many veterans and draft pickers.

Subsequently, many players from the Alabama team were able to catch press attention.

DeVonta Smith won the Heisman Trophy. In addition to that, he also won the Maxwell Award and the Biletnikoff Award. Other award winners comprise quarterback Mac Jones, who won the Davey O’Brien Award and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

With his strong all-around passing skills set, the 22-year-old Mac Jones championship pedigree is expected to get picked in the first round.

He has not played in NFL yet and this makes it hard for draft pickers to analyze and say how his career is going to be like.

While, according to draft analysts, Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence, BYU Cougar’s Zach Wilson, and Ohio State’s Justin Fields are going to be the three best Quater-Backs available this year.

Former QB Chris Simms chooses Mac Jones over other NFL QB prospects.

Jones, who most recently played for the Alabama Crimson Tide, had a tremendous 2020 season.

He completed 77.4% of his passes while averaging 11.2 yards per attempt. With 41 Touch Downs to his name and only four interceptions, his passer rating was 203.

Endorsing Alabam’s Jones, Simms gave his strong take during the Dean Patrick Show:

“Mac Jones is a better prospect than Tua. Mac Jones is going to go in the Top-10. From just what I’ve seen right now, I’d be shocked. I think there’s gonna be 4 probably in the Top-8, just a base comment right now.” Chris Simms shared his thoughts.

“Now some of the people in the media are talking to people in the NFL, who have just started to turn on the film. And they’re going, ‘This Mac Jones guy, all he does is throw spirals, perfect throws, NFL type throws, he can change his arm angle and do those types of things,’ and I think that’s why you’re kind of hearing that chatter right now,” he added.

This year’s drafting event might be a perfect opportunity for Mac Jones.

Subsequently, he is accurate, efficient, and smart. His intelligent play builds up the confidence a team requires too.

Though, there are times when his throwing arm is exposed and his plays get fuzzy. But who knows, if someday he develops an elite throwing arm strength.

He is already a smart athlete who is capable of anticipating moves, a Quater-Back who can do it accurately.

There is so doubt NFL draft pickers will consider questions about Jones’ transition to the professional level. Evidently, he is a serious prospect and for sure NFL teams will try to sign him in the draft.
