Lyon vs PSG: Twice as a hero, Tuchel wants more from Neymar

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) coach Thomas Tuchel believes Neymar Jr.’s performance will be better going forward

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) coach Thomas Tuchel believes Neymar Jr.’s performance will be better going forward. Neymar brought PSG to shut up Olympique Lyon in Ligue 1 2019/2020 at Groupama Stadium on Sunday (9/22/2019) local time or Monday (9/23/2019) early morning hrs.

Neymar quickly brushed aside the chaos of last summer’s transfer which covered him. Twice he became a winning hero after the previous week, bringing PSG to a 1-0 win over Strasbourg. These results put PSG at the top of the Ligue 1 standings with 15 points, three ahead of Angers.

Tuchel said the Brazilian striker would improve at PSG. “He can still do better. This is only the second or third match in four months,” Tuchel told L’Equipe.

“He can do better and will do better because he will get in physical capacity, that’s Ney, he always decides. He always thinks to play forward, to attack.”

“We need players like that in difficult matches like this to make a difference in one-on-one matches.”

Neymar was widely associated with his return to Barcelona during the summer stock exchange, but foundered and remained in Paris. Tuchel insisted the 27-year-old forward was committed to PSG despite wanting to move to Barca.

“He has a contract so of course 100% with us,” he added. “I can even confirm that he is 100% involved with us in the field and 100% in the group.”

“He laughed a lot with his teammates, it’s normal for him and it’s good for the team,” Tuchel said. “He is here to score goals, he is there to do decisive things so I really demand it.”
