English League Competition 2019/2020 is rolling again. The fifth matchday will be marked by the match Liverpool versus Newcastle United at Anfield Stadium on Saturday (09/14/2019) night.
This match will certainly draw attention since, in the first four Premier League matches, Liverpool were able to look mighty. The power of the Red really became a byword after maintaining a perfect record with unbeaten after defeating Norwich City, Southampton, Arsenal, and Burnley.
Of the four matches, Mohamed Salah et al managed to score 12 goals and conceded only three goals. The positive results put Liverpool at the top of the Premier League standings with 12 points.
Unlike Juergen Klopp’s men, Newcastle has had a terrible start in the Premier League this season. In the four matches that Newcastle has played, Steve Bruce’s team have recorded one win, one draw, and two defeats. The minor results put the Magpies in 14th place with four points.
Seeing the two teams report cards, Liverpool on paper clearly more favored than the visitors. Especially if you look in the mirror at their last five meeting records.
Of the five meetings that have been undertaken, Liverpool has never lost. That is, Klopp’s troops will seek a fifth successive victory in the Premier League this season.
But things can change unexpectedly since Newcastle have won four points in their last two matches, including a surprise victory against Tottenham Hotspur. Moreover, Liverpool’s focus is starting to break up since there are seven different matches to be played before entering next month.
The seven matches consist of four Premier League matches, two Champions League qualifying parties, and one English League Cup match. “We want to move forward – and we want to win every game that is in front of us now. There are seven matches before the next international break. We want to win the match. That’s what we have to try and do,” said Virgil van Dijk.
“It’s very difficult to say whether the same total points as last season will be enough for this time. If you win the game, that’s the only way to think. We know exactly how well Manchester City will be in the Premier League this season. But there are also “other competitions where we can look for success. The next few weeks we will play Saturday / midweek almost all the time,” said van Dijk. Liverpool
