Lille and Chelsea were both forced to swallow defeat in the first fight. This time, in their first clash, both teams wanted the best results so they would not be thrown off the competition map in Group H.

Lille will host Chelsea at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Matchday 2 in Group H of the 2019/20 Champions League, Thursday (3/10/2019).

On the first matchday, Lille fell 3-0 at home to Ajax. Fate no less bitter also experienced by Chelsea when entertaining Valencia. Playing at home, against a team that at that time was faltering due to the change of coach, Chelsea was forced to give up 0-1 and lose three points.

Chelsea is without a win in the last four matches against French clubs, home and away (M0 S1 K3), and all against PSG.

Chelsea has only won once in eight of their away games against French clubs. Can the Blues win their second win in France when they challenge Lille at Villeneuve-d’Ascq later?
