Lewis and Mercedes are in a contract dilemma, Eddie Jordan says “It’s a difficult situation”

With less than six weeks to go for the 2021 F1 pre-season start, the defending champion Lewis Hamilton and his team Mercedes are yet to sign a contract renewal. The Seven times World Champion’s contract with the Mercedes AMG F1 team ended at the end of last year.

The contract contradiction

The Mercedes team principal, Toto Wolff, said that the team will soon embark on signing a new contract with Hamilton. Mercedes is already on board with Valtteri Bottas. With one spot left for the season to start for the team, all eyes are on defending champion Lewis Hamilton.

Eddie Jordan is confident about Lewis Hamilton

Eddie Jordan, the former F1 team boss, seems to be confident about Hamilton clinching another Championship if he teams up with Mercedes again.

Jordan conveyed, “The sport is in a difficult situation because no one can put their finger on Mercedes. They do it better than anybody else. Racing Point won a race last year, which was amazing from Sergio Perez, and Max Verstappen (Red Bull) won the last race but that shouldn’t confuse people into thinking it will be much more open. Mercedes have the best people and the best engine, so how can they not win the championship?

Jordan further added, “And one thing’s for sure Mercedes and (team boss) Toto Wolf will not be easily deluded. He’s a very smart guy. He knows exactly the value of Lewis Hamilton and I think they will sit down and come to a good solution because the world of F1 needs Lewis Hamilton in it.”

End of a beautiful partnership?

Factually Hamilton and Mercedes AMG F1 team have been unbeatable together in their respective forte. With Hamilton taking up back-to-back Driver’s Championship and while Mercedes AMG F1 taking up Constructor’s Championship.

Six weeks away from the 2021 season to commence, every fan is expecting to see Hamilton behind the wheels of the Mercedes F1 team.
