The LA Lakers cruised to a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night. The 137-121 victory helped the Lakers to stay in the hunt for the top spot in the Western Conference. In this game, LeBron James scored a triple-double to bolster his case for the MVP title.
Through the course of this match, LeBron finished with 25 points, 12 assists, and 12 rebounds. This was his 99th career triple-double. He is one shy of having a 100 that will make him join the elite club of players who have over 100 triple-doubles.
Frank Vogel doesn't see anything different from LeBron's play since the All-Star break. He says the Lakers are just making shots.
"When guys are making shots, he's going to get triple-doubles."

Coach Frank Vogel was all praises for LeBron after the game. He said, “When guys are making shots, he’s going to get triple-doubles.”
LeBron James and Lakers rollover bottom-placed Timberwolves
The Timberwolves struggled to cope with the fast-paced game of the Lakers throughout the game. There were many defensive frailties on display that were quickly capitalized upon. For the Lakers, this game was a relatively easy one as they finished with a season-high 37 assists.
Apart from LeBron, Montrezl Harrell and Dennis Schröder also put in virtuoso performances for the side. Harrell finished with 25 points and 6 assists while Schröder had 16 points and 17 assists.
Frank Vogel was pleased with his side after the game. In the post-game press conference, he spoke about the combination of James and Harrell on the court. He said, “Obviously LeBron is the best reader of the game. Moreover, Trezz [Harrell] is a dynamic roller. We tweak the spaces, give it a bit of a different look. Tonight, we were running that action and Minnesota had a hard time figuring it out.”
The Minnesota Timberwolves tried their best to keep the pressure on the 1st round draft pick Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns had 29 points apiece. However, the defensive shortcomings ultimately resulted in the Lakers pulling away.
The Lakers are third in the Western Conference standings. At the moment they are well in contention for the playoffs and have a three-game winning streak. Moreover, news of Anthony Davis returning from injury is also heard often. Hence coach Vogel and the team members will consider themselves to be in quite a comfortable situation going into the final stretch.
