LeBron James Adds 4th NBA Championship to His Portfolio

The Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James were determined to take what they came for – the NBA Championship trophy. They proved their conviction for the game by winning the NBA Championship 2020. It was Kobe Bryant’s fifth as well final title in 2008 that put them on the top of the NBA last time. That was over a decade back.

LeBron James managed to score 28 points – 14 rebounds – 10 assists in the game. In the game that was organized on Sunday, Miami Heat got beaten by the Lakers by 106-93.

NBA Championship: Hard Time for Players of Lakers

The Lakers were going through a rough patch after the untimely demise of their iconic player Kobe Bryant in January this year. Anthony Davis, particularly was criticized for the challenges the team faced, he had, and teammates had to play at a bubble designed for keeping them safe from COVID-19 infection. Anthony scored 19 points and 15 rebounds in the game.

What LeBron Thinks of the Victory

LeBron is extremely happy after this victory and this is what he expressed:

I told Jeanie [Buss, Lakers owner] when I came here that I was going to put this franchise back in a position where it belongs. Her late, great father did it for so many years, and she just took it on after that and for me to be part of such a historical franchise is an unbelievable feeling, not only for myself but for my teammates, for the organization, for the coaches, for the trainers, everybody that’s here. We want our respect. Rob [Pelinka, Lakers GM] wants his respect, coach [Frank] Vogel wanted his respect, our organization want their respect, Laker Nation wants their respect, and I want my damn respect too.

Performance of the Players

James had earlier predicted that winning this title would be the most challenging job to accomplish. James had more first played for Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013. He won the title during both years. While playing for Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, he won his third title.

Now that he’s in the Los Angeles Lakers, he’s achieved it for the fourth time in 2020. Rajon Rondo had an excellent performance for the Lakers by making 19 points.

It wasn’t like Miami Heat players were not giving their best, Adebayo managed to score 25 points with ten rebounds, and Jimmy Butler got 12 points.

Remembering Iconic Kobe Bryant

Davis stated that after winning the game, he was thinking of their deceased teammate Kobe Bryant. He said, “all we wanted to do was to do it for him.” And by winning the championship, they didn’t let him down.

The league is over after going through a suspension of almost four months due to pandemic. The league did see so many things this year – from the demise of iconic figures like Kobe Bryant and David Stern and political fiasco involving China, and of course the pandemic.
