Lane Johnson injury update: Eagles right tackle faces another ankle injury and will be out for the rest of the 2020 Season

It seems injury has become a friend for Lane Johnson, as he has been battling shoulder, ankle, and knee injuries all season. All started before the 2020 training camp, and he had to go through an ankle surgery in late August.

It happened again!

Lane Johnson announced his injury this morning through a video conference in which he said, “the inside of my ankle collapsed,” and he will miss the 2020 NFL season.

However, the Eagles will face the real problem for upcoming games as Lane Johnson was the best tackle in the NFL league for the last few seasons.

So, who will be replaced while Johnson is out of the league?

According to Johnson, he expects to have Matt Pryor in his place in the right tackle. On the other hand, Jack Driscoll could have been another good choice; unfortunately, he is injured. However, Driscoll would come back soon and can be seen playing at the right tackle.

So the possible starting lineup for Philadelphia Eagles could be

Left tackle — Jordan Mailata

Left guard — Isaac Seumalo

Right guard — Jason Peters

Right tackle — Matt Pryor

Center — Jason Kelce

Lane Johnson will have to go through another surgery, and he will need a good amount of time to heal! Johnson is already 30, and at this age, the courage and performance he has been showing are amazing. However, it is not sure how strong he will be in the next season. But he is pretty confident about his comeback as he posted Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “I’ll be back” clip from the movie ‘Terminator.’

We will have to wait until the 2021 NFL season. Till then, I wish Lane Johnson very good luck and thanks for this Thanksgiving celebration.
