Coronavirus outbreaks make almost all sports events around the world disrupted. However, the UFC duel between Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson continued.
Khabib will face Ferguson in the UFC 249 duel at Barclays Center, New York, April 18, 2020. Amid the spread of the coronavirus, the duel is feared to be postponed.
According to WHO, the United States has 1,264 cases as of Friday (13/3), with the death toll already reaching 36. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has also made a ban on holding a throng event, which was attended by more than 500 people.
That makes the duel Khabib vs Ferguson also in the spotlight. However, Khabib’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, guaranteed that the duel would go on.
‘Guys, Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Sunglasses (Tony Ferguson) was held on April 18. UFC is one of the biggest home entertainment and it always finds ways with or without fans,’ Ali said on Twitter, as reported by Metro.co.uk.
Ferguson himself became a duel for the lightweight champion’s title. If you win the opponent, Khabib is said to have the potential to rematch with Conor McGregor.
