Tony Ferguson and Conor McGregor are two potential opponents to face Khabib Nurmagomedov. The first name that is preferred by The Eagle.
After defeating Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 last month, Khabib was immediately crowded with questions about the next opponent. Three names stick out namely George St-Pierre, Ferguson, or with McGregor.
The last two names are quite potential. Both Ferguson and McGregor had even openly invited him to a duel.
Khabib spoke up. After claiming to want to duel in Russia, he also prefers Ferguson over McGregor. The reason is that the United States fighter was more worthy of being confronted first because of its quality, which is unbeaten in its last 12 battles.
“I must say that Tony Ferguson deserved it. You have to give him praise. He won 12 times and deserved more than Conor,” Khabib said as reported by Russian Today.
“Conor must go back [and] stop beating up old people. He is a professional fighter. He has to go back, win, get a place and queue,” Khabib exclaimed, as he quipped McGregor’s behavior that was found to beat up the old man in the bar some time ago.
Khabib and McGregor had also previously been dueled. At T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, United States, on October 6, 2018, Khabib won the submission and retained his lightweight championship belt.
