Khabib Nurmagomedov was caught kicking Tony Ferguson ‘s championship belt ahead of his second duel at UFC 249. He was offended by the words of his opponent.

In a press conference that took place in Las Vegas, Saturday (07/03/2020) yesterday, initially Ferguson and Khabib held a group photo session.

Then Khabib was seen wanting to take a picture with a championship belt. He also took his property and put it on his right shoulder. But Ferguson did not do the same. He keeps his champion belt on the floor.

Both were involved in fierce chatter until at one moment Khabib unexpectedly kicked Ferguson’s belt. Ferguson himself was not offended, he actually seemed to enjoy the moment.

‘To be honest, I want to be kind when attending a press conference. You know I don’t like to do crazy things, you know that’ Khabib told ESPN, quoted by Mirror.

‘But when he (Ferguson) mentioned street battles, I went a little too far, yeah. Because he never fights on the streets.’

‘You know, I often fight on the streets. He never did. Because in America, you can’t do it on the streets. But I grew up in Dagestan, every day I fight on the streets. And he talked about street battles?’

‘Like at school, everywhere. I often fight on the streets and when he talks about it, I don’t understand. He never did,’ said the Russian fighter.

Duel Khabib vs Ferguson will take place in Brooklyn, New York, on April 18.
