The 31-year-old Barcelona defender Jordi Alba mentions his thoughts regarding Mbappe and Haaland’s linking to the Catalan giants.

Barca has gone through a major change, the appointment of new president Joan Laporta, elected for the second time after his first tenure from 2003 to 2010. Since then there are talks regarding many transfer moves in the summer window.

The PSG and the Dortmund forwards are the prime targets linked with the transfer rumors. Along with the Catalan club, there is a word about Manchester City and Real Madrid are also eyeing the two players.

Both young players displayed their potential in the ongoing UEFA Champions League. The Catalans faced a disappointing defeat to the French giants in the championship with the PSG striker Kylian Mbappe alone scoring four goals against Blaugrana in UCL’s top 16. Meanwhile, the 20-year-old Erling Haaland showed his potential in the tournament, scoring ten goals from six Dortmund appearances.

Recently, the Barca defender spoke about his career and mentioned having a lot of time to even think of retirement. The Catalonia-born was further asked about the transfer rumors and mentioned to be happy to welcome such great talents to Camp Nou.

Alba reported to Sports, “They’re young players who are coming on strong and are at a great level. They’re great players, they’re the present already…. but I don’t decide.”

Few days back, the Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman was questioned about the transfer move, although he distanced himself from the rumor and claimed to remain silent about players not belonging to their club and focusing on their upcoming matches.

“There is talk of signings but I don’t like it and I need to focus on tomorrow’s game and the players we have.

“We’ll talk in the next few weeks on where we can improve but I will not respond to players who are not ours.” concluded Koeman.

Jordi Alba is focusing on the upcoming La Liga matches because of the chances to take over Atlético Madrid in the league standings. The Catalans giants will face Athletic Club in the finals of the Copa del Rey on Saturday, April 17.
