Jonny Evans left the field in pain. As he exited, Leicester City lost to Arsenal by three goals to one on February 28th, 2021. Furthermore, the Northern Irishman was missing from the Leicester line-ups for the next following fixtures at Burnley and Brighton.

His exit caused the Foxes to lose their usual dominance in defense. They drew in the game against Burnley on March 3rd, 2021. Following this, they narrowly won their away fixture against Brighton by a one-goal margin on March 7th, 2021.

Hence Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers exhibited his joy in having Jonny Evans in his squad when they face Sheffield United on March 14th. In an interview yesterday, the Englishman said, “Jonny Evans making a return is a great news for us.”

Having Jonny Evan back in the squad is great news says, Brendan Rodgers

Jonny’s move to the Foxes could not have come at a better time, as Ex-Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers took over at the King Power Stadium on February 29th, 2019. Following the Englishman’s arrival, Jonny Evans had a better season, and his importance for the foxes increased over the years. He recorded two goals in seventy-seven appearances for the Foxes since his arrival. He was vital in acquiring the third position on the Premier League table in the current season.

Brendan Rodgers welcomes back Dennis Praet and Ayoze Perez along with Evans

The thirty-three-year-old veteran is overjoyed with the news that his team-mates Dennis Praet and Ayoze Perez will return to the squad along with him.

Praet operates as a central midfielder for the Foxes. He does not score or assist; however, the Belgian provides cover and support for the forward line. Perez is an accomplished player of his right, but unlike Praet, his impact has been far less for the Foxes.

In an interview, Brendan Rodgers said, “Other than Evans, Praet and Perez will make a return as well. This is great news too.”

Jonny Evans has a great relationship with both these players. He is confident in his team’s ability and desire to win titles in England. Following the Sheffield United game, the Northern Irishman looks forward to facing the teams in the EPL with a fully fit and strong Leicester side.
