
Jonatan Christie advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2019 Korean Open badminton tournament
In the match at Incheon Airport Skydome on Thursday (9/26/2019), Jonatan defeated Thailand’s badminton player, Khosit Phetpardab. Jonatan wins 21-8 and 22-20.
The victory extended Jonatan’s head to head advantage over Khosit. Now, the owner of the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games gold medal is 6-1 ahead of Khosit.
In addition, these positive results led Jonatan to advance to the quarterfinals of the Korean Open. Jonatan faces Taiwan’s badminton player Wang Tzu Wei, who surprisingly eliminated seventh seed Viktor Axelsen 21-15, 21-6 today.
In another fight, Anthony ran aground. He was defeated by Danish badminton player, Jan O Jorgensen, despite having stolen the first game wins 21-17, 16-21, and 13-21.
The defeat was Anthony’s fourth defeat at the hands of Jorgensen. Of the five meetings, Anthony only won at the Australian Open in 2017.
