KTM Director, Pit Bierer, revealed the possibility of his team going back down Johann Zarco when appearing in the 2019 MotoGP season in Thailand. That possibility arose after Pol Espargaro was injured in the 2019 Aragon MotoGP.
As is known, the relationship between Zarco and the KTM Team did end some time ago. Yes, the French racer finally chose to terminate his contract with the KTM Team.
“We are in a difficult situation at the moment. Pol’s injury has really made our plans to face the remaining six races falling apart. We will see what the development of Pol’s condition is, if it is not possible, then we will bring Johann back to Buriram,” he said. Bierer was quoted by Motorsport Total on Wednesday (9/25/2019).
“Moreover, Johann showed a promising performance when the free practice session until qualification at Misano. The lap time in qualification 1 is also really promising. So I don’t think there is any harm in lowering him back at Buriram,” he concluded.
Zarco and the KTM Team actually split up some time ago. Zarco’s decision was chosen because he was disappointed with the speed of the KTM Team motorcycle, namely RC16 2019.
In 11 races in MotoGP 2019, Zarco was unable to compete with rivals. Zarco himself is still rooted to 17th place with 22 points. It was Zarco’s worst position since advancing to MotoGP in 2017.
