In the final of the 2017/2018 Champions League, Liverpool was defeated by Real Madrid, where Gareth Bale came out as the actor of El Real’s victory after scoring two goals. Unfortunately, a week after the match Milner met Bale.
In an interview with BT Sport, Milner said that he met Bale at a golf event in Spain. At that time Bale happened to be in the same event.

“I don’t hate Bale. But the worst part is, Bale’s golf cart is parked near where I am.” Milner told BT Sport, quoted by Tribuna.
Luckily, James Milner was able to bring Liverpool to win the Champions League title in the season after that. So, now Milner claims he is no longer awkward when meeting Bale.
