The 27-year-old Italian UFC star, Marvin Vettori believes he’s just a big-ass whooping away from his long-awaited rematch with Stylebender. Currently ranked sixth as per UFC’s middleweight rankings, Vettori has a long way ahead. Despite being behind a couple of top fighters, he thinks it’s his time to shine and go for the title.
Marvin says, “Most of the top five, they’re injured or they’re not showing up, so it doesn’t count. Like they’re top-five just on the paper. I think I deserve the title shot after this.”
As for his beef with Darren Till, Vettori has lost all interest in it. He said, ” [Darren] lost his opportunity. I don’t even trust him anymore to show up. I would like to eventually, but he can try and challenge me when I’ll be the champion. If he can gain the spot, I’ll face him then.”
Recently, Holland received an onslaught of criticism for his big mouth and the rant he went on after getting defeated. On being asked about whether he will continue his trash-talking in the ring, Kevin said no, and said that he will focus on the fight and let his fists do the talking.
Marvin Vettori desperate for his win against Israel Adesanya
Marvin and Adesanya last fought in 2018 with the latter winning the fight via a split decision. Not being a unanimous victory, kept many fans on the edge and to this day, they believe that Marvin won the bout. But the champ is still hopeful and coming off an impressive set of wins must have bolstered his confidence.
Marvin says he cannot wait for the rematch to happen as he’ll finally get to settle his score against Izzy. Vettori expressed his thoughts about the rematch when asked if he’s ready. He said, “I’m a whole different fighter by now than what I was back then, So I can’t wait. Gonna smash this guy and then everything will fall into place.”
Before grabbing the chance to beat Adesanya, Marvin Vettori must show his willpower and skills to prove he’s up for it.
