“I Would Have Made the Team”: Lakers’ Star LeBron James on If He Tried Out For NFL During 2011 Lockdown

LeBron James

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is one of the best players that the NBA has ever seen. He has achieved everything in his career, from individual accolades to winning NBA Championships. In the near future, King James will most certainly become the first-ballot Hall of Famer.

However, few know, but LBJ was one of the top prospects for football during high school. In fact, he could have been a lottery pick for either sport and have a remarkable career. While James chose basketball as his professional career, one might wonder how well he could have done in the NFL.

Well, we will never know that, but recently it was revealed that LBJ considered shifting to the NFL for a brief time back in 2011.

According to a report by CBS Sports, LeBron thought of trying out for the NFL when the NBA season was on lockdown in 2011. LBJ said:

I would have made the team. I would have tried out, but I would have made the team. One thing about it, I don’t mind working for something, so if I would have had to try out for the Cowboys or the Seahawks, or if I’d have stayed home and went back home to Cleveland, I’d have tried out, but I would have made the team. I just know what I’m capable of doing on the football field. Especially at that age.”

Well, fortunately for basketball fans, the King never switched careers and has continued to dominate the NBA. Even this season, the LA Lakers are one of the favorites to win the championship with LBJ at the helm.
