The quarterback of Brigham Young University, Zach Wilson, has been gaining a lot of traction over the past few weeks. He is likely to be the no.2 pick in the overall draft. If Trevor Lawrence gets picked off by the Jacksonville Jaguars as their first pick, then the New York Jets would be the most favorable to take Wilson.
The university’s head coach Kalani Sitake had some nice words to say about Wilson. According to him, Zach Wilson will fit very well in the NFL setup. Moreover, he also said that whichever team ends up with him would be in for a treat as he is a fantastic talent.
Coach Sitake is all praises for Zach Wilson
The New York Post interviewed Sitake to know more about his star quarterback. He said, “Draft him and find out. I recruited him, and I recruited him late, and it’s one of the best decisions I ever made. . . . I’m excited to see where the next stop’ll be for him, because I think he’ll do really, really well there.”
He continued, “On a football field, he’s a guy that could easily be a coach right now,” Sitake said. “You want a guy to be highly competitive, but not a lot of people are willing to sacrifice and put in the time to prepare like he is. Imagine a player who loves the game of football and when I’m working late nights, he’s here as well. And then when I’m watching film, he’ll come in and watch film with the coaching staff and hang out. He lives for ball, that’s what he does, and he’s a great student of the game, and his work ethic’s unbelievable, and his teammates love him.”
Zach Wilson joins the list of quarterbacks who are up for grabs at this year’s NFL Draft. Some of the names in the list are Trevor Lawrence, Mac Jones, and Trey Lance. He will certainly become a much bigger talking point in the build-up to the draft. But one thing is for sure that Zach Wilson will bring a certain tenacity and a ‘never-say-die’ attitude to the field which will assist his team immensely.
