Red Bull Racing revealed their new car for the 2021 season of Formula 1 and both the drivers- Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen expressed their excitement about the new ride.

The Austrian team is aiming to take down the number one Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton in the new season with their new car and the new driver. Perez was out of contract since his last one expired with Racing Point and replaced him with the quadruple world champion Sebastian Vettel. Therefore, the Mexican joined the Red Bull for the 2021 season, and his main sponsor Telcel is also featuring on the livery of the new car.

What does Sergio Perez think about the new car?

The 31-year-old driver tested the new RB16B with his teammate Verstappen at Silverstone. Sergio mentioned it was very emotional for him to drive his new car and the performance was impressive. However, the Mexican was not happy with the weather, as the track was wet because of the rain during the test drive. Checo drove the RB15 earlier this week and can tell the superiority the new car has over the 2019 Formula 1 car.

The Mexican said, “Driving a new car is always special for the driver and also for the team. They have been working so hard through the winter, so to finally take the car on the track, it’s quite an emotional day.

“I can say I think there are a lot of potentials. The conditions were not great, but it was nice to get a feeling for the car. It’s pretty exciting. Earlier this week I drove the RB15, but today I could feel a step in overall grip and top speed.”

Checo got his first P1 with Racing Point in the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix and became the first Mexican driver to win a race since Pedro Rodriguez’s victory in the Belgian Grand Prix of the 1970 season. Sergio aims to get his second win in his career with the RB16B in 2021.

What does Red Bull boss Horner say about the RB16B and Sergio Perez?

Team Principal Christian Horner is talking about their new project for the past couple of months. He is confident in their new car RB16B, as this chassis is really special in a lot of ways. The new ride is the last collaboration between the constructor and Honda. Since it is publicly announced that the Austrian team would take over the Japanese manufacturer’s technology for the power unit from 2022.

The Red Bull RB16B can be the winning car for Mad Max, as the ace driver might leave the team if he cannot become the world champion in this season, and it is all according to the performance clause between the two parties.

Checo joining the team is delightful for the Red Bull boss, and he can see a ray of hope in Perez and the car. Horner is quite confident they might beat the top constructor Mercedes in this season.
