Max Verstappen called the punishment in Formula 1 similar to football. The judges have different views in making decisions.
The Red Bull Racing rider twice escaped the punishment of the International Automotive Federation (FIA) when carrying out dangerous actions at the Austrian Grand Prix and Silverstone 2019. In both incidents, Verstappen was competing with his rival, Charles Leclerc.
In Austria, he overtook Leclerc aggressively before finishing the race as champion. While in England, Verstappen with the Ferarri rider touched each other in a corner.
Regarding his actions that escaped the penalty steward, Verstappen analogous to giving punishment in F1 with football. According to him, the decision depends on the judges who witnessed the incident.
According to Autosport, Verstappen said that the problem in F1 is the same as football. A football match has referees and yellow cards and it’s the same here.
