After losing to Charles Leclerc in the first free practice session of the Russian F1 GP, Max Verstappen became the first in the second session. This time Verstappen is ahead of Leclerc.
In the previous session, Verstappen narrowly lost to Leclerc. He was only 0.082 seconds slower than the Ferrari driver.
In the second free practice session at Sochi Autodrom, Friday (9/27/2019), Verstappen recorded the best time of 1 minute 33.162 seconds. He was 0.335 seconds ahead of Leclerc in second.
Mercedes duo followed behind him. Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton took the third and fourth positions respectively.
Sebastian Vettel then trailed behind him. He had made a mistake so he had to settle for fifth with a difference of one second from Verstappen.
Pierre Gasly from Toro Rosso occupies the sixth position in front of Sergio Perez (Racing Point). Nico Hulkenberg, Lance Stroll, and Alexander Albon complete the top 10.
