Eden Hazard will miss the 2019/2019 El Clasico La Liga versus Barcelona in the La Liga continuation on 18 December. Real Madrid confirmed he had a small broken bone in his ankle.
Hazard came into play when Madrid drew 2-2 in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain late last month. He needs help walking, and stumbles out of the field. Coach Zinedine Zidane expressed his concern after the match and believes Hazard’s injury was more than an ordinary bruise.
Media reports indicate that there is an increasing concern with Hazard’s condition because he still needs a cane to walk. Madrid then sent Hazard for further tests and found a small crack.
While the club has not confirmed how long Hazard will be absent, such injuries usually take at least a month to recover. Widespread media reports said Hazard would be absent at El Clasico.
Madrid will face Barca at Camp Nou on December 18, with the match rescheduled to October 26. The match was postponed due to political unrest in Catalonia.
Marcelo is also doubtful for appearing after Madrid confirmed that he suffered a calf injury. However, the problem was considered not as serious as Hazard. The Madrid-based publication, Marca, claims that he can be absent for three weeks.
Madrid and Barca have 31 points from 14 matches at LaLiga, one ahead of Sevilla. Ahead of El Clasico, Madrid face Espanyol and Valencia, while they will also go to Club Brugge in the 2019/2020 Champions League.
