It’s a well-known fact that Floyd Mayweather has a history of violence ever since he was young.
When Floyd was a child, his mother suffered from drug addiction, and his father was a small-time drug dealer. Tony Sinclair, his paternal uncle was a business associate of the toddler’s father “Big” Floyd, a small-time drug dealer.
As the story proceeds, the business had gone badly between the two men. Mayweather Sr. grabbed Sinclair by the throat and sent him scurrying. Later he returned home to find Sinclair waiting with a 20-gauge shotgun.
Mayweather Sr. recalled the moment when death was in front of him.
He narrated, “If you’re going to kill me, you’re going to kill the baby, too. I wasn’t going to put that baby down. I didn’t want to die. It wasn’t about putting my son in the line of fire. I knew [Sinclair] wouldn’t shoot the baby. So he took the gun off my face, lowered it to my leg, and bam!”

In a recent podcast show named, Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Floyd Mayweather talked about his success and mentality.
Floyd said, “Actually, my Dad was holding me when he got shot. I’ve been through a lot of ups and downs, but I beat all odds”
Floyd also talked about how his mentality has kept him at the top of the game despite having a lot of rocky career phases.
He said “When you see me you see the cars, the watches, but it’s a lot that come’s along with that. A lot of smart moves that’s behind the scenes. To become great you have to roll the dice and take the chance on yourself and that’s what I do. You always got to have a game plan. I live my life the way I want to live it and no matter what you can’t please everybody.”
Though his relationship with his father has not been the best and also rocky at times. Floyd Mayweather knows he owes everything to the man that helped shape him into one of the greatest boxers of all time.
