Firas Zahabi: Tony Ferguson Has The Strength To Beat Khabib Nurmagomedov
Firas Zahabi, the head coach of Tristar Gym was recently asked about the current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Firas believes that Nurmagomedov is one of the greatest lightweights in the history of the UFC, but he also believes that Tony Ferguson has the skills to down him.
Watch the video below:
The statements were made in an interview with Mohammed Hijab.
“If there is someone who can beat Khabib, and I don’t think there is, Khabib is the best lightweight in history, his only real contender is Tony Ferguson,” Zahabi said.
“Ferguson has great skills. It is excellent to get back on its feet, it is excellent with its movement in the octagon, it is very aggressive ”.
The Canadian believes that Ferguson can put Khabib Nurmagomedov in trouble when faced. In the interview, he was asked if Ferguson could finish Nurmagomedov with the same guillotine that Dustin Poirier tried to block at UFC 242.

Zahabi also mentioned that, apart from Ferguson, he believes that another fighter who can defeat Nurmagomedov is Islam Makhachev.
However, Zahabi mentioned they both are teammates and that fight will never happen.
So, in Zahabi’s mind, the only real threat to Khabib is Ferguson, who is campaigning to face the champion as soon as possible. Unless Georges St-Pierre returns and reaches an agreement to fight for the belt.
