The loved-up couple was spotted sharing leisure time together. George Russell was in a pair of blue shorts while his girlfriend dawned on a leopard printed bikini.

Factually Russell was also seen with Seychelle De Vries, who has reportedly been dating him since his F2 days back in December.

Shot to fame

The Brit became famous when he replaced Covid-struck Defending Champion Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes line up. He almost won the race in Sakhir Grand Prix last season. After leading for almost 87 laps, Russell had to settle for a ninth-place, having suffered a slow puncture and a pit-stop blunder, eventually.

The 22-year-old revealed he got the call at 2 am while he was in the bathroom. “I got a phone call from Toto at 2am on Tuesday morning. I was in the bathroom which was slightly awkward.” Russell stated.

“I answered the phone and he said ‘George, are you in the bathroom?’ And I said, ‘yes, sorry, I am’. Russell conveyed. “He replied by saying ‘unfortunately Lewis has got Covid. He is healthy, and he feels fine, but we want you to drive.’

The Mercedes story

Russell’s co-driver Lewis praised the former for putting up impressive performance under pressure. Russell reacted to the praise and told in an interview, “Lewis is a legend and of course the greatest racer in the sport. My respect for him in the last four years has increased enormously,”

“To receive such nice words from him, that means a lot to me, but I won’t let it affect me. After all, Lewis is not going to make a difference to my career.” he added. “I have to do it all myself. I have to go out on the track and perform there. It doesn’t matter if every driver says I’m the best driver of them all if I don’t perform. You have to show your worth on the track.” Russell further asserted.

Despite the struggles Russell had on track with the Williams F1 team, he still managed to put in several impressive drives.

His Mercedes drive made Mercedes AMG F1 Boss Toto Wolff admit that there is a possibility that the team could give the Brit a permanent spot in the team. Former F1 driver Jan Lammers also suggested the Mercedes CEO for using Russell as an example during contract talks with Lewis Hamilton this season.
