Results of FP1 and FP2 Ahead of the Japanese GP 2019
Valtteri Bottas closed the series of free practice sessions on the first day by locking positions as the fastest racers in FP1 and FP2 / Crash

Valtteri Bottas closed the series of free training sessions on the first day by locking positions as the fastest racers in FP1 and FP2. This is a satisfying result for the Mercedes team because in these two sessions Bottas and Lewis Hamilton were able to maintain their consistency by being ranked one and two.

In this FP2, Bottas recorded the fastest time of 1 minute 27,785 seconds. He was 0.100 seconds ahead of teammate Hamilton, who trailed in second.

This position is similar to in FP1 when the Mercedes team duo occupies places one and two in the first free practice session. The less fortunate fate felt by Ferrari racers, Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel.

In FP1, Vettel and Leclerc were able to perform well by finishing third and fourth. But the achievement was not able to be maintained in FP2 when the Ferrari duo was only able to perch at number four and fifth.
