
Williams Racing have recently appointed Francois-Xavier Demaison as their new Technical Director for the upcoming F1 season. The British team made a public announcement on their official social media pages following the event. On his appointment, the Frenchman expressed that he will be looking forward to “carve out a direction” for the team.
Francois-Xavier, before working as a project leader with WRC, also worked with automobile giants such as Sauber, Peugeot and Citroen. The British Formula One team in fact appointed their first technical director since Paddy Lowe’s departure back in 2019.

Demaison, also known as ‘FX’ conveyed in an interview after joining Williams, “They have a great team of talented people, and I hope I can work with them and the senior management team to help carve out a direction for the future, to help the team achieve its ambitions.”
Francois-Xavier Demaison also talked about his plans in the new team. He asserted, “I am really looking forward to joining Williams Racing, as they begin an exciting journey to turn their performance around. It’s going to be a great challenge, but one that I am eager to start.”

Demaison to be a performance booster for Williams Racing?
Williams Racing to hope high with the former Volkswagen executive’s appointment. The Grove based team will try everything to avoid the disappointing season they had last season.
Adding on, Williams failed to collect a single point last season and was placed at P10 in the drivers standings. However, the team management is confident of performing far better than they did last season this time around.

The British constructor has promising drivers such as George Russell and Nicholas Latifi at their disposal. With Francois-Xavier Demaison’s appointment, formula one fans believe it will be an extra boost for Williams to fare better in 2021.
