The debates on the Red Bull versus Mercedes at the Bahrain Grand Prix are going to end anytime soon. Even Christian Horner, the Red Bull boss, spoke about the pros and cons of that fight.
The most controversial issue has been about abusing the track limits, as Max Verstappen went ahead of Lewis Hamilton at Turn 1 but had to give back the position because of going out of the track. Horner also raised his voice about the rules on the track limits along with his happiness about the stunning performance from both his drivers and the new RB16B.

Horner further exerted his views on track limits on Red Bull’s official podcast, “What was little bit greyer in the early parts of the race was the abuse of those track limits and I think everyone wants clarity can you use it or can’t you use it. The worse thing for the fans, for the drivers, and the teams is where you can use it in this instance and not other.”
Christian Horner on the season-opener at Bahrain
The new RB16B has proven to be the fastest car of the season which impresses the Red Bull boss. He further expressed his joy to ace in all events except the season-opener at the Bahrain International Circuit. Horner is unhappy about the Bahrain GP results, especially about the abuse of track limits.

Horner further spoke about their ace Verstappen who showcased some excellent performance in the prior weeks of the 2021 season. He even applauded the Dutch prodigy to put on a neck-to-neck fight against Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton. However, the British boss further stated it would be early to talk about the possibility of taking down Mercedes, though he will wait and gather data from the next five to six races.
The new Red Bull addition Sergio Perez impressed the Red Bull performance after his fairytale-like driving at Bahrain GP. Christian said the Mexican messed up in the Q2 and therefore unable to make it to the next round. However, Checo surprised everyone after finishing P5 at Bahrain, as the Mexican had a pit-lane start behind other cars because of technical issues with his RB16B during the formation lap.
