Nico Rosberg thinks Max Verstappen is “absolutely” capable of winning Bahrain Grand Prix

Max Verstappen turned down all rumors regarding his transfer to Red Bull.

Nico Rosberg, the former Mercedes AMG driver claimed Max Verstappen can pull off a stunner and win the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix. The German feels the Red Bull prodigy has got enough skills to clinch the Sakhir Championship over anyone else.

The 35-year-old, who beat Lewis to claim the 2016 Formula One Championship looks upon Max as the only potential contender to rattle Lewis’s domination in the sports. Nico further praised Verstappen’s performance in the recently concluded pre-season testing.

Rosberg when asked about Max Verstappen’s possibility to win at Bahrain, he expressedAbsolutely” given the Red Bull driver’s brilliant performance lately.

The Finnish Formula One star then continued when asked about the best thing that could happen to F1, “For the sport, it would be the greatest thing ever if Red Bull gets away and Mercedes have to chase them”.

What to expect from Max Verstappen at Sakhir?

Max Verstappen had one of the best pre-season testings of his career when the Dutch performed extremely well at Sakhir. The 23-year-old driver was the fastest of all in the testing, ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris and Alpine’s Esteban Ocon who were second and third respectively.

However, what came as shocking for the Formula One fans was Mercedes’s F1W12’s failure against Red Bull’s new RB16B. The Red Bull’s new machine seemed way ahead of everyone as far as the power and drag were concerned. It will be interesting to see how the young dutch fares at Bahrain having such advantages at his disposal.

The qualifiers for Sakhir to start from March 26, followed by main race on March 28.
