McLaren enjoyed a beautiful start in the 2021 season of Formula One, finishing P4 and P7 at the season opener at the Bahrain International Circuit. The British constructor credits both their drivers for the excellent performance.
There are few changes in the English team, moving to Mercedes for the power unit and the addition of the former Renault driver Daniel Ricciardo to the driver line-up. McLaren management claims their drivers are the key to their success and will give a tough time to the top-tier teams like Mercedes and Red Bull.

Andreas Seidl, The Team Principal of McLaren claims to have a strong line-up for the 2021 season, which can give a tough time to top teams like Mercedes and Red Bull.
McLaren chief Andreas Seidl compliments his drivers on passing the Bahrain Q3, “I’m really happy with what we have seen so far from both guys. It’s great that we again seem to have a very strong driver line-up. We managed to get through both cars [in] Q3, both guys always very close together.”
McLaren on their strong line-up
Lando Norris is considered one of the most promising racers and is already amongst the world’s best drivers. The 21-year-old Briton along with his former teammate Carlos Sainz got McLaren to the third rank on the 2020 constructor standings.

The McLaren driver Lando Norris finished at P4 in the 2021 season-opener at the Bahrain International Circuit.
Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo joined the Woking-based team on a three-year contract and replaced Sainz, who left to join Ferrari. The Honey-Badger is well-known for his fearless driving and being termed as the best-overtaker in the sport. The 33-year-old Australian finished fifth in the last year’s driver standing ahead of his new teammate Norris.
Both Ricciardo and Norris showcased some beautiful driving in the first week of the season, even getting a sixth and seventh place on the grid respectively. However, both the drivers put on a neck-to-neck fight against each other and also with other drivers on the circuit..

The new McLaren driver finished at P7 after getting some damage to his MCL35M from Alpha Tauri’s Pierre Gasly at the 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix.
The young Englishman finished in fourth place ahead of Red Bull’s new card Sergio Perez. However, Daniel’s car was damaged because of the impact from Alpha Tauri’s Pierre Gasly, and used his experience to finish the race in seventh place.

Therefore, the British team is extremely with their driver line-up and has the strength to not only maintain their superiority in the midfield but also take on the cars at the front of the grid. We can expect both the drivers to claim a lot of points for McLaren in 2021.
McLaren is working hard with their drivers to win the upcoming race at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari on Sunday, April 18.
