Lewis Hamilton Thinks “Cars Were better” Than The New Upgrades of 2022 Challenger

Lewis Hamilton finished fourth in the FP1 of the 2021 Bahrain GP.

Lewis Hamilton, the seven times world champion has opened up about the series of changes Formula One is supposed to undergo next season. Among all other changes, the cars will have significant amount of changes and that is what the British international is concerned about.

The FIA has put in a series of changes for the next year for the betterment of sport. However, with the changes coming the formula one world has been divided into two parts. Some people are agreeing with the changes and some people are thinking opposite, with Hamilton being one of them.

Lewis, in an interview with the Spanish daily AS, conveyed on this regard, “If you’re in Formula 1, you have to understand the technology, the complications of the budget cap, how difficult it will be to develop from now on. We should be faster and more efficient – these cars were better when they were lighter. But the people in charge have made their decisions and there is nothing we can do about it.”

The reigning Formula One Champion further asserted on this, “I did a test with the 18-inch tyres to understand what the difference is – how it will affect me as a driver. The cars will be heavier and slower and that seems like a step back to me”

Hamilton, who is the title contender this season seemed to be unimpressed by the new 18-inch wheel car he drove few weeks back and he thinks the sport will be going backwards. If the regulations about the new car changes according to plan it will give us a hard time driving the new cars.

As much as the 36 year old is concerned about his own driving style to be hampered by the new regulations, he is worried about the sport as a whole. Having said that, the Briton is hopeful that the people in charge will do the needful for the betterment of the sport.
