Lewis Hamilton Reveals What Ruined His ‘Whole Winter’ At The Start of This Season

Lewis Hamilton considers Portimao as one of his favourite circuits

Lewis Hamilton, the winner of recently concluded Spanish Grand Prix has talked about the reason that ruined his ‘whole winter’ last season. The seven times world champion mentioned that it was the contract dilemma that ruined his winter vacation at the start of this season.

The current Formula One leader has renewed his Contract with the Silver Arrows this season for a duration of 12 months. It was not sure if the Briton would renew his contract with the team once again or he’ll leave elsewhere or eventually leave the sport.

However, Lewis has hinted that he wants to sign a new contract with Mercedes and doens’t want to be in a position where he was in last winter. In an interview after the Spanish Grand Prix was over, Hamilton conveyed, “We never want to be in the position that we were in in January and February. It ruined my whole winter.”

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff was also at the same situation as Lewis. Talking about the context, the 36-year-old driver further asserted “And I am sure it wasn’t helpful for Toto. We couldn’t be off and relax so it felt like we didn’t really have much of a break”

Lewis, the former McLaren driver who won his first ever title with McLaren has won the other six with his current team Mercedes. Being the title contender this season, Hamilton is leading the Championship and chasing the record breaking eighth Championship title.

The fans and Formula One pundits believed Hamilton will stay at his favourite constructor for years to come. It’ll be interesting how things turn up at the end of the season.
