Lewis Hamilton, the Mercedes driver has made his position clear on the rivalry and friendship with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. The seven times world champion stated to keep everything “clean” and keep it on the edge with the Red Bull prodigy.
The rivalry between the Mercedes man and the Red Bull man is pretty much of a hot topic now and everyone seems to give this some extra attention. Both Hamilton and Verstappen are well aware of their capabilities and hence Lewis stated that none of them has any intention to “get any closer”

In an interview, the 36-year-old Englishman conveyed, “I think we will continue to keep it clean and keep it on the edge but I don’t think either of us has a plan to get any closer than we have been.”
The former McLaren driver further asserted, “I think it is naturally down to respect and I think both very, very hard but fair and I think that’s what makes great racing and great racing drivers,”

Hamilton won the recently concluded Portuguese Grand Prix and as per the current season’s standings, Lewis amassed 69 points and leads the Championship by 8 points over Max Verstappen who has 61 points.
When asked about his association with Lewis Hamilton, Max stated, “Yeah, it’s been really cool. Especially when you race a driver, when you know that you can go to the absolute limit, I guess you can trust each other to just race super hard.”

“I think that’s always really nice because you can see in the three races… it’s been really close to each other but predictable. Lewis has never had something like ‘oh, we’re going to crash’ or something. I always have full trust in Lewis that we all give each other enough space.”, concluded the Dutchman.
