Lando Norris Talks of “First Proper Season” He Ever Witnessed As a Kid In Formula One

Lando Norris revealed his first ever Formula One season he followed thoroughly being a fan. The Briton expressed that he has always been a McLaren fan and that’s not because he’s driving for them now.

Lando, spoke about the dual between Formula One’s two greats Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso during their early days. McLaren’s livery and vinyls used to attract the Briton, the Chrome Silver-Red and then Orange, reveals the speedster.

In the video posted by McLaren’s official Twitter Handle, Norris conveyed “In 2007, When I was 7 years old, It was obviously Lewis against Fernando, McLaren. Seeing those two battle it out, and the fights that they had between them, that was kind of my first proper year I’ve watched I’d probably say I watched every race of Formula 1 that season.”

 

The 21-year-old driver further asserted on his liking towards the British automobile giants, “I’m a big fan of McLaren and I’m not just saying that because I’m with McLaren. Because of their livery and I just… Chrome and the orange was really cool and I liked it as a kid.”

Lando Norris and the expectations from him

Norris is termed as one of the most promising driver Formula One has right now. The young Briton is amongst the world’s top drivers and he has proved his worth in the recently concluded Bahrain Grand Prix. With Lando Norris and Ricciardo, McLaren management feels they can give Red Bull and Mercedes a run for their money in this season.

Adding on, Norris finished at P4 in Sakhir and provided his team a much needed boost for the title race. Formula One pundits believe it is time for him to push harder and match his childhood heroes [Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso] on the track.
