The 22-year-old had already attracted all eyes on himself during his debut season because of his aggressive driving and behavior. The rookie seems to invite a lot of trouble for himself because of his attitude.

Prior to joining Haas, Mazepin uploaded an abhorrent video, which angered the fans. Further, the F1 fans also wanted Haas to not sign the Russian. However, the rookie apologized and deleted the video.

However, the young Russian spoke up and said he never knew about such rules from his team and claims that everyone needs to think about himself in this sport.

In a post-race interview at Imola, the 22-year-old said, “Each of us has a team, the instructions of which we follow. In both cases, I followed the instructions, but there are some unspoken rules.”

“Yes, I am still learning. But in the end, I crossed the finish line two seconds before the end of the qualifying segment. If I had stayed behind him, I would not have had time for another lap. It’s unpleasant for me that it happened, but here it’s every man for himself.” The Haas rookie further added to his statement.

What’s next for Nikita Mazepin in Formula One?

After a wonderful performance in Formula Two, Mazepin got promoted to F1. He joined Haas F1 Team along with his fellow F2 driver Mick Schumacher. However, the Russian failed to make a mark in his debut F1 season.

The rookie is already famous for spinning his VF-21 in Bahrain and Imola. Mazepin’s driving style is very aggressive, which leads to such accidents. He claimed to improve his style but still, it hasn’t happened in 2021.
