“He Never Gives Up” Lewis Hamilton Praised by James Vowles For His Never Back Down Attitude

James Vowles, the chief strategist at Mercedes AMG F1 praised the seven-times Formula One Champion Lewis Hamilton for his never-giving-up attitude. This attitude is perhaps the reason why the Briton is so successful at the Formula One circuit now.

The British-born strategist also talked about how Hamilton has been a stubborn lad and fought his way to the podium. There were multiple occasions when Lewis didn’t make it to the top three in qualifying, but with his grit and determination, the 36-year-old eventually won the pole.

Vowles in his interview with Beyond The Grid podcast, conveyed, “He never gives up, ever. You don’t see his head drop in the race, he doesn’t think ‘I’m 12th, I’m going to give up now’.”

The 41-year-old British engineer and strategist further asserted, “He just wants to know what’s ahead of him and how to keep fighting. Often we are the ones that have to tell him ‘you just have to accept where you are now because what’s in front of you is just not achievable anymore.”

Lewis Hamilton proved Vowles right at Sakhir

The recently concluded Bahrain Grand Prix can taken as a prime example of Lewis’s capabilities. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was the race favourite at Sakhir with his faster RB16B against Lewis and Mercedes. Throughout the pre-testing and the qualification Red Bull and Max showed their mettle and outlasted the Briton and his W12.

However, the reigning champion did not let it go easy, he fought back and eventually clinched the Sakhir Championship over Max Verstappen in a scintillating manner.

Hamilton, as usual, is the title favorite this year alongside Verstappen. Lewis leads the Driver’s Championship with 7 points over the Dutch International Verstappen and looks forward to hold the lead. It will interest fans to see how James Vowles’ statements prove to be true till the end of the season.
