The 2021 Emilia Romagna GP has been an absolute nail-biting race throughout. Following that, the most dramatic moment was the massive dreadful crash between Valtteri Bottas and George Russell.
The Finnish Mercedes driver was amazing throughout the weekend in Italy, acing the FP1 and FP2. Also, finishing in the top-10 during the FP3 and qualifying session.,
However, Bottas’ outstanding run came to an end on the race day with an impact from the 23-year-old Russell. Meanwhile, the William driver blames the Finn to squeeze him during the overtake, resulting in a disastrous crash.

Russell further asked on the team radio about the Mercedes (33), “What the f**k was he doing?”
What happened with Valtteri Bottas at the Imola circuit?
The 31-year-old Bottas is one of the best drivers in the world. He showcased some beautiful driving at the heart-stopping season-ope0ner at Shakir and even got P3 and the fastest lap at Bahrain GP.
Many Formula One pundits believed the Finnish to get another podium at Imola. The Silver Arrow pilot did perform well at the Friday and Saturday sessions. Further, he was not letting other drivers get ahead during the weekend race.

The 2021 Mercedes challenger W12 of Valtteri Bottas was heavily damaged after the crash with George Russell from Williams Racing at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on Sunday, April 18, 2021.
During Lap 33, George Russell tried to overtake the Finnish from the outside of the track. However, William’s driver lost control of FW43B and slammed into Bottas’ W12. The crash between both the drivers resulted in massive damage to both their cars, although the racers were safe.
Soon after the crash, the red flag was raised, and the race got discontinued to clear the track of the metal scrap left behind because of the accident. Further, Bottas and Russell got disqualified from the race. Meanwhile, the other Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton finished next to the champion Max Verstappen.
