The 2021 season of Formula One began with a thrilling Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit and a similar experience is expected from the rest of the season. However, F1 President Stefano Domenicali revealed his plans for the next season.

The president is already busy working with the rule and regulations for 2022 which will increase the excitement and also the financial resources. However, Domenicali is also interested in hosting a Grand Prix in Africa along with the USA and China as candidates for next season.

F1 president stated, “I would say that it is very important that we run a championship all over the world. The possibilities of a GP in Africa? Discussions are ongoing, but we are still in the initial stages.

“China and the United States remain very important markets for us.”

Formula One has shown to stand up against racism and also the seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton supported to host a Grand Prix in Africa. Therefore, talks are already happening with Warren Scheckter, CEO of South African GP. There are rumors to host an African Grand Prix in 2023 at the Kyalami Circuit, which last hosted the Formula One in 1993.

Stefano Domenicali revealed his priority to hold the race in the USA and China, as both countries have huge potential for the sport. F1 is already hosting the longest calendar in 2020 with 23 races, but there is the possibility of 25 Grand Prix calendar in 2022.

However, the 55-year-old president is having trouble with hosting the event in Shanghai, as he already failed in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic. But the F1 boss hasn’t lost faith in that location, he will try to redeem it whenever there is an opportunity.

We might witness an American and Chinese Grand Prix next year prior to the African Grand Prix in 2023. All teams and F1 authorities are busy with preparations for the second race of the 2021 season at Imola on April 18.
