
Fernando Alonso, the Spanish driver has opened up about the facts that scaring him this season. Alonso, who joined Alpine after a year’s break seemed to be worried about the new season.
The former Ferrari driver has two Championships (2005, 2006) under his belt and has raced for teams like McLaren. Fernando has joined Alpine (previously known as Renault) this year on a two year deal.

When asked about his statement on the new season, the Spaniard conveyed, “What am I afraid of? A calendar of 23 races. It means having about 20 days off in the whole year.”
The 39-year-old driver, about whom many thinks lacks proper shape and fitness. Since Formula One needs lots of dedication and hardwork, being able to race at 39 years is a remarkable feat. On this context, he added “Psychophysical tests show that I am as fit as I was in 2010.”

There have been few changes in the sport, just like the rake system changes, however most of the changes are set to take place next year.
Talking about the new changes, Alonso expressed, “The real challenge is 2022, but F1 does not seem to have changed. Same people, same rules. Who was strong two years ago is strong today.”,
“As for me, I am a little different. I wanted new challenges, I had the time to face them and I think my mind and body have improved. I am more relaxed in terms of what I demand of myself”, concluded the Spanish Champion.

Alonso currently stands at P12 with 5 points amassed after three races. It’ll be interesting to see how the former Ferrari driver manages to cope up this season that has been scaring him from the beginning.
