Fernando Alonso had a poor comeback in Formula 1 this season. Facing issues with the brake duct, he quit from the Bahrain Grand Prix. However, the Spaniard was found cycling ahead of his upcoming race, coming back to form.
Alonso and his cycling hobby raised quite a heat early this year after an accident. The 39-year-old collided with a car during his cycling session in Switzerland and underwent surgery for an upper jaw fracture.
Recently, the Alpine driver again went out with his cycle to stay positive for the upcoming race in Italy. Alonso further uploaded the snap of the cycling track on his Twitter captioning, “Good weekend everyone.”

Fernando Alonso and expectations for the race in Imola
The Spanish racer returned to Formula One after a two-year break and made his comeback with Alpine, the same team that helped Alonso win two world championships as Renault.

However, the Oviedo-born couldn’t make a remarkable return, as the issues with his brakes forced him to early retirement from the season-opener. After the race, Alonso reported debris got into the brake ducts, which malfunctioned his A521. But later on, the French constructor revealed it was not debris instead was a sandwich wrapper.

Fernando Alonso took early retirement from the 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix after a sandwich wrapper caused a malfunction in his brakes.
The two-time world champion was disappointed about his early retirement from the race. Nevertheless, he also mentioned his satisfaction to return to the F1 domain. Further, he was happy to drive alongside his friends and rivals, and thus he’s positive to do much better in the upcoming race.
Fernando Alonso is working with his team at Enstone for the upcoming race at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, on April 18. We can hope to witness some impressive racing from the two-time world champion.
