Daniel Ricciardo Reveals Why He Feels “Little bit Scared” of Monaco GP in The F1 Season

Daniel Ricciardo of McLaren F1 claims the Formula One drivers are very talented and got much more to show than just 'crashes' as the best moments of the sport.

Daniel Ricciardo, the new McLaren recruit has opened up about the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix that is supposed to take place later this week. The Australian speedster also mentioned about the new way he’s going to experience the race at this high speed circuit.

Monaco Grand Prix is generally one of the grandest track when it comes to fans, rich people and limelight. Seeing that track quite empty due to Coronavirus restrictions in the country is quite a disappointing sight, the Aussie thinks.

Daniel ‘Honey Badger’ Ricciardo, in an interview, conveyed in this context, “The track itself is so intense that I think that that will always be a 10 out of 10,” explained Ricciardo. “So the in-car stuff will still have those highs. But the build-up, when you’re kind of walking through the crowd and then the fans to get pretty much into the pit lane and into the car, it’s already kind of chaotic before you get there.”

The 31-year-old driver further asserted, “So your heart rate’s already up and then the circuit’s going to do the rest for you. So maybe there’ll be a little bit more of a calm before the storm. I am so excited to go there, but I am also a little bit scared to not get too excited, because it’s that atmosphere and it’s the whole aura of the boats and everyone, and people on the track at the end of the day drinking and partying.”

Ricciardo is currently at P7 in the driver’s standings right now and managed to finish at P6 in the recently concluded Spanish Grand Prix. Daniel who joined McLaren this year after a quite successful stint with his former team Renault, is finding it quite hard to settle down at his new team.

The performance from his isn’t quite top-notch and failed to reach the expectation level from a driver of his calibre. It’ll be interesting to see how Riccardo manages to perform at this season’s Monaco Grand Prix.
