Daniel Ricciardo Reveals His Speed Fantasy- “A few laps by myself at Mount Panorama” in a Supercar

Mclaren F1 Driver Daniel Ricciardo talks about his dream to drive at the Bathurst 1000 event in one of his favourite supercar

Daniel Ricciardo and his love for supercars is world known. The Mclaren driver has cherished driving some of the best supercars in the past and recently revealed his long-held dream of driving in a Bathurst Supercars outing.

“Supercars, the race would be cool. But just to drive one of those cars in anger around Bathurst, that would give me enough of a thrill. If I got to compete even better, but just give me a few laps by myself at Mount Panorama and I’ll be happy,” the Australian said.

We must mention here that Maclaren Boss Zak Brown is a co-owner of the Walkinshaw Andretti United, an Australian motor racing team based in the Melbourne suburb of Clayton.

So, with Ricciardo being a good friend to Brown, the fans can certainly see the Australian living his dream soon.”I do have to ask Zak. I need to – even if I don’t do the race – I need to drive a Supercar around Bathurst,” the 31-year-old said during one of his interviews with a famous sport daily.

“Whether it’s a private test or the actual race, I do need to do it. And I think now I have a good opportunity with Zak as a friend and a boss.

The Australian driver has previously test-run Rick Kelly’s Castrol Nissan Supercar at Calder Park in 2019 ahead of that year’s Australian Grand Prix weekend. Besides, he also put his hands on Red Bull’s Sandman car at Sandown in 2016 on course to a commercial shoot.

Ricciardo also holds a chance to earn himself a drive in the 1984 Wrangler Chevrolet Monte Carlo of late NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt provided he claim a podium finish for McLaren in the 2021 season.

This comes out of a bet that has been placed by McLaren CEO Zak Brown who owns the 1984 Wrangler Chevrolet, a car driven by seven-time champion Earnhardt during the 1984 NASCAR season.

Daniel Ricciardo comes as a huge fan of Earnhardt. Well, this is the reason why he got ‘number three’ painted on all of his F1 cars. As the Portuguese grand Prix flags off on May 2nd, the Mclaren driver certainly has the golden opportunity to live his deep-rooted dream.
