Alpine Director Looks Ahead to Aerodynamics Upgrade Before Imola’s Race

Fernando Alonso is wheeled back to Garage

Alpine F1, the French car manufacturer hasn’t had the best of start as both their drivers failed to find points in the season opener at Bahrain. Esteban Ocon had a rocky start as he dropped out in Q1 and later was hit by Sebastian Vettel.

His teammate, Fernando Alonso had a relatively better qualifier finishing at the 9th position. Fernando was on track to win points for the team, but issues with the break forced him to retire. Alpine, formerly Renault, tracked down the performance of its vehicle under warmer temperatures.

But Alpine has assured fans that they are bringing new changes to the car and when asked about the new upgrades they’re planning. Marcin said, “We have an aerodynamic upgrade package coming to the car for this grand Prix. In addition, we have some test items to assess during Friday practice, which will help define further upgrades planned over the next few races.”

A brand new start for Alpine at Imola

Alpine executive director, Marcin Budkowski expressed his disappointment after the Bahrain GP. He said, “We scared ourselves a little bit, it’s fair to say. We were looking a bit uncompetitive and it’s good to get back to somewhere a bit more competitive. We’re still a bit short of two-or-three-tenths to actually be fighting with the people we aim to fight with.”

Alpine is intending to bring a “quite good” update bundle to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola. In a bid to re-discover their pace and rejoin the battle with the other midfield groups. Budkowski believes the hot temperatures won’t affect their performance as it’ll be springtime soon.

Fernando Alonso made a comeback to F1 after staying 2 seasons away. He thinks the main objective for the team at the upcoming Imola GP should be to close the gap to the top 10. He said, “I think we have to fight to score our first points of the season on Sunday. “Let’s hope all our bad luck for the season was used up in Bahrain. We’re still learning lots about the car and I’m expecting that the setup here. The weather will be very different to what we experienced in Bahrain.”

It’s time to change the gears as Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola is at the doorstep. In 3 days time, we’ll have a new champion, so get ready for an exhilarating race.
