Andrea Dovizioso did not expect to be able to have a career in the MotoGP arena for years. The Ducati Team rider made Valentino Rossi as his role model.
Dovi first worked in the MotoGP world championship in 2001 in the 125cc class, when he was still 15 years old. In 2004, he managed to become a champion and rise to the 250cc class.
The Italian rider started fighting in the main MotoGP class from 2008 to the present. His best achievement was to runner-up under Marc Marquez for three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019.
MotoGP race 2020 became his 19th season for a career in the racing world. Dovi did not think he could compete competitively at the top level since he was a teenager until now.
Dovi said on Speedweek that he was still competing in mini-competitions and never imagined he could fight in a world championship. That was something big for him, especially in those times.
