Novak Djokovic set a new record in his extraordinary career at the Australian Open. In the first round, he defeated German, Jan-Lennard Struff to achieve the 900th victory in his career.

Performing at Melbourne Park, Melbourne, Monday (01/20/2020) night, Djokovic did not win easily. Facing Struff, the DJoker-nickname Djokovic had lost the second set before finally winning 7-6 (5), 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.

For Djokovic, these results not only drove him through to the second round. However, according to ATP records, it was the 900th victory in Djokovic’s professional career in the singles.

‘Milestones are clearly motivational. Numbers like that make me proud of what I have achieved in my career,’ Djokovic was quoted as saying on the official ATP website.

With this achievement, Djokovic now joins Jimmy Connors, Roger Federer, Ivan Lendl, Rafael Nadal, and Guillermo Vilas as the world’s top tennis players who achieved more than 900 wins.
